Mauvaise Graine

Mauvaise Graine, the children's book collection from Editions L'Amazone!
This collection aims to bring forgotten and little-known books from our counter-histories back into circulation through revisiting, updating, and reprinting. To achieve this, we work closely with artists to carefully and artisanally produce our books.

Our books are made to create a critical and rich dialogue between child and adult, one that is open to the world and its realities, without neglecting the imagination. The book thus acts as a tool for building awareness and understanding of our environment, considering the child as part of our multiple and complex realities. Marie L’or Kaeppelin-Billaudot, a special educator, mother, and political activist, rightly observes in her essay on children's literature titled Il sera une fois (La pensée sauvage, 1978) “how fallacious it is to consider the world of childhood as well-protected, and deceptive to think we can keep it away from conflicts, and therefore struggles.”
